After having a creative rough patch and taking a bit of a break in 2015, save for a few amazing features, Saba has made the majority 2016 his. After several high-profile drops on i-D and Apple Music, an appearance with Chance on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert”, plus a Lollapalooza slot, Saba is set to release Bucket List, his first project since 2014’s Comfort Zone, at some point in the (very) near future. Today, though you can catch the Austin native’s face at newsstands all over the city. Westside stand all the way up.
Josh Terry provided another great cover story, which you can read the full version of right here. Or you can pick up this edition of the Red Eye newspaper, available today.
With his creativity restored and his writing rejuvenated, Saba’s ready to capitalize on the upward momentum of his released single “Symmetry” and his recent Lollapalooza performance. “I’m excited to drop a project just because it’s been so long since I have and there’s been so much overcome, and to get to this point is really good,” Saba says of his new focus. “Whatever it’s supposed to do, I know that it will. I’m really hoping that it just connects with who it’s supposed to connect, like a kid from the West Side of Chicago.” This fall, he’ll find out.
