It’s astonishing how in 2016, we as a nation are still dealing with race issues in America. Yet, despite all the oppression, contributions, and influences that we as a race have contributed over the years to the greater enrichment of society — we continue to receive the short end of the stick when it comes to equality. As a black man in America, I can attest to the hardships we face: poverty, unemployment, incarceration, black on black crime, and police brutality are just a few examples.
What OctobersLondon conveys in his socially charged video “Black Man in America” is the burdens and hardships that we still face as a race today. I hope that one day equality will become more then just a word to be thrown around, but something we all bare responsibility in upholding. However until then, stay conscious, stay woke, and stay strong black man.
