It’s here. Yes, it’s Riot Fest week. Clap. Rejoice. Tell a friend. The 11th year of the Chicago staple is upon us. The most creative and unique of the Chicago festivals returns to scenic Douglas Park on Friday, September 16th through Sunday, September 18th.
The lineup is stacked with artists of all genres, but their hip-hop lineup is incredibly impressive this year. So much, in fact, that we thought it was only right to give you a list of five must-see rap acts this weekend. Don’t say we never did anything for you.
Tickets are still available here, so be sure to grab yours before they sell out. See you this weekend. Hit the jump to check out the list.
Nas
Nas is kinda like fine wine — he continues to get better with age — a feat almost zero rappers have achieved. And 2016 is no exception, as interest in the Queens rapper is at an all time high. He’s making waves with his major (key) DJ Khaled collaboration, the Fugees-sampling “Nas Album Done,” and plans to drop a new album before the year is out. Catch him Saturday at 8:45pm.
