For years and years I used to complain that Master P didn’t get the respect he deserved in the rap game. He was an innovator, a trendsetter, a legend. But I felt for many years they tried to wipe Percy’s accomplishments under the rug — like his label didn’t drop 23 albums in 1998 — making him the highest paid hip-hop entertainer that year.
Fast forward to now-era and P’s fingerprints are everywhere. He’s name-dropped in countless songs, and the younger generation seems to appreciate P’s contributions to the game — or at least enjoy having a laugh WITH him.
