Parkay is a survivor. Period. Three years ago today, Parkay survived a near-fatal shooting that temporarily derailed his career and almost stole his life. Thankfully, Parkay has healed and is back stronger than ever. It’s been a long three years, and his road to recovery has been slow, but on this third anniversary he’s partnered with long-time friend and collaborator Will Gates for his Handz On documentary. A look into what exactly happened, and how he’s overcome this near-tragedy.

I will say that this is tough to watch. But Parkay’s story needs to be told. His journey has been long and arduous, but I’m glad he’s getting his story out. The world needs to hear it. It’s a tale of perseverance and a tale of dedication. He did it — and he hasn’t missed a step.

Hear the whole story from Parkay’s mouth below. Handz On is a must watch.
