Mariah the Scientist (Mariah Amani Buckles) is coming back to Chicago with Rod Wave’s Beautiful Mind Tour. We last saw her here at the Pitchfork Music Festival in Union Park in September. Her beautiful ballad-like songs, sometimes hauntingly beautiful and relatable lyrics, and her infectious smile can’t help but draw us to her.
Mariah the Scientist has the ultimate girl-next-door vibe, but one who has been wronged and caught up in it. We can’t help but relate to her and want to draw our inspiration of redemption from her by emulating her beauty, looks, poise, and talents.
How do we get this look and come out stronger like her? We go back to the beauty essentials!
Eyelashes
Many people say that the eyes are the window to the soul, and for Mariah the Scientist, this is no different. Her eyelashes are always perfectly plump and full. But as a Black woman, it can be difficult to find an eyelash set that matches hair texture. Thankfully, there is a solution to that, resolved by Makeda Kalani Robinson, a competitive dancer who was unsatisfied with her own experience with false lashes on the market.
At the age of 18, Robinson received funding from friends and family to start her own eyelash line. Traditional funding was difficult to find because of her age. Robinson created an online store and soon found herself filling the hole in the market, making Black women everywhere happier with fuller, plumper, curled lashes.
Jewelry
When we see pictures of Mariah the Scientist, she is often sporting beautiful but simple jewelry. One of her best looks includes a diamond tennis necklace. This necklace is also often embellished with either Mariah’s name, initials, or even a diamond-encrusted cross.
When she wears a statement piece necklace, this singer pairs it with simple stud diamond earrings. Other earrings that Mariah the Scientists sports are large, golden hoops. These seem to be her more playful earrings of choice.
Hair
Mariah’s hair is always perfectly coiffed. It ranges from her beautiful natural dark color to a natural red hue to a vibrant candy apple green. Many of her hairstyles are long and silken, and last time she was in Chicago, she changed up her hairline with a beautiful fringe bang. She provides a plethora of inspiration for beautiful hairstyles.
One of the best ways to obtain similar, beautiful locks can be achieved with a silk press treatment. Whatever look you strive to emulate, you can’t go wrong with many of the classic looks sported by Mariah the Scientist. If you are sporting long dreadlocks, be sure that you use the right hair products for locs to keep them shiny and healthy.
Becoming Mariah the Scientist
Mariah the Scientist is a beautiful example of beauty, talent, and brains. An Atlanta-born native, she received a scholarship to St. John’s University in NYC, where she studied biology, thus resulting in her stage name of Mariah the Scientist. It was while attending St. John’s that she found her passion in music, choosing to drop out of school and pursue her music career.
Mariah the Scientist is a woman who is relatable, beautiful, and talented. As she returns to share her music in Chicago, we are excited to welcome her and her example of perseverance, and support and celebrate her amazing career thus far.
This singer complements her diamond stud earrings with a statement necklace whenever she wears one of her necklaces that makes a statement. Large hoops made of gold are another style of earring that Mariah the Scientists likes to wear. It appears that she like to wear earrings of this more whimsical kind.
