Snoop Dogg Stiffs Schaumburg Crowd

Posted on July 26, 2010 by Andrew Barber

This is actually pretty funny.  While Snoop was in town last week, doing a solid for Chicago youth and unveiling his football league, he also had a performance scheduled at John Barleycorn’s out in the ‘burbs (say word?).  Well, instead of showing up in Schaumburg, he decided to attend Fashion Friday’s at Crimson Lounge.  I heard a small riot about broke out at Barleycorn’s in the aftermath.  That ain’t nothin’ but a #treat thang.

Says NBC Chicago:

That’s what around 800 people were asking Friday night after Snoop Dogg failed to show up for an appearance at Schaumburg’s John Barleycorn.

Club management announced at about 1:45 a.m. that the rapper was not going to appear, causing the crowd to boo and throw items at the stage. Schaumburg police dispatched officers to the scene, but no arrests were made.

Snoop was in Chicago throughout the day, appearing at a press conference for his new youth football league, and at the Adidas store on Michigan Avenue later on in the day.

And according to numerous tweets and this blurry Twitpic photo, he also managed to hit the Fashion Friday event at Crimson Lounge after 11 p.m.

But as for the fans who paid up to $25 for his Schaumburg appearance? Barleycorn officials aren’t sure if they’ll try to reschedule the show.

Calls to Snoop Dogg’s PR team were not immediately returned.
