The Chi-Raq controversy continues.
Late last week, Spike Lee was at Northwestern University in Evanston hosting a screening and Q&A of his controversial film, Chi-Raq, which has basically infuriated the entire city of Chicago. Sure, Spike has his supporters, but for the most part Chicagoans have panned the film — especially within the hip-hop community. And his talk at Northwestern certainly didn’t help matters.
During his discussion, Spike called Chance The Rapper a “fraud” (because his father Ken works with the Mayor) and even mocked King Louie getting shot in the head in December, telling the crowd “I didn’t do it.” Yesterday, we posted Louie’s response to Spike Lee (check that out here), so it’s only right we give Chance’s side of the story.
Tonight, Chano took to Twitter to briefly address the matter, claiming Spike is a liar and admitting he has audio of Spike begging appear in Chi-Raq. Looks like Chance will have the last laugh here. Check out Chano’s responses below.
