BYLUG family member and Detroit ambassador, Freddy K, finally gives us his long-awaited album, Rich N**** Paradise. Now, I will admit wholeheartedly that Freddy has an amazing ear for beats — I stand behind pretty everything he picks. He’s got that patented Detroit smooth player soul sound locked down. On Paradise, he also sprinkles in some of that street slap, but he’s at his best with the bouncy samples. Shout out my dude Shawn Azzarelli who handled a bulk of the production on this album.
Payroll Giovanni, Armany Dre, Overlord Scooch, HBK, Doughboy Roc, Cashout Calhoun, BMo Maine and the rest of the gang are all here. I’m only a few songs in and it’s already shaping up to be one of the most impressive Detroit releases of 2016. I’m hooked. Freddy did his thing. Listen up below.
