Navarro is back with the third installment of his Beats & Bars series — which he kicked off in Little Village/Lawndale back in 2016. Now the collective is back for round three, which was inspired by the legendary Baba Kwesi.

The Beats and Bars collective from Chicago’s southwest side are back with their third album, Life to the Lifeless. The project was written, produced and recorded during the early winter months of 2017. The teens from Beats and Bars wrote, produced and recorded the entire album during the after school program in the Little Village/Lawndale neighborhood. The project was inspired by the words of Baba Kwesi Ronald Harris, who can be heard on Can’t Go. We are the life preservers.
