As promised, Ravyn Lenae took the night to drop off her brand new EP, and it is oh-so-sweet. After a stellar rollout that included a dazzling video and an extra silky performance on MTV’s TRL, Ravyn’s latest effort might just be the one that makes her everyone’s favorite emerging R&B act. Sticky is still a certified jam, and will only grow from here, but the full project has another couple that I can see becoming joints that you begin to hear everywhere
I’ve said this before, but without any disrespect to Monte, Ravyn hopping on Steve Lacy production really is a match made in heaven. In addition to providing all the soundscapes on this extended play (possibly made on his iPhone?), the Internet artist also provides vocals on a couple of the cuts. But make no mistake, this is Ravyn’s show, and we love to see her run it.
