Today, HipHopDX released the “official” tracklist for Twista’s second release on EMI Records, The Perfect Storm, which is due out October 26th. This revised tracklist only features 11 cuts and greatly differs from the version I was played back in June. Obviously, I knew it would change, but I didn’t think so many songs would get cut. I guess a handful of these omitted tracks didn’t fit the sound of the album? Hell, I haven’t even heard the one featuring Dawreck, but I have heard good things about it. Waka Flocka has changed songs and T-Pain and Bobby Valentino are no longer down.
Will it be a doper effort? Let’s take a deeper look:

Damn!!! Chiefj4 said Fat Joe will sell more! hahaha. I doubt it though. 5k isn’t too hard to beat. Especially with his Chris Breezy single. Ray J usually has decent and catchy hooks as well and Flocka is huge in the streets. I think he’ll do more than 5 but I hear you that it won’t do much.

Twista’s problem is that he never established his own identity in music so he can’t feature a bunch of local rappers that no one will ever really care about. With each cd he has to prove himself. Besides, who the hell wants to hear a tight Twista verse wedged in with some average no-name rappers? Even when Twista is with real rappers I need to hit fast-forward to get to his verse. Mobstability was tight and Liff and Mayze can hold it down but sometimes I had to skip their verses.
