Jaycee & FSD Present – The Bone Crusher EP

Posted on November 2, 2010 by Andrew Barber

Part 3 of FSD’s series with contributor Jaycee:

Fake Shore Drive & Jaycee are at it again. This project opens an old wound from the late ’90’s beef between Chicago rappers and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. The beef initially started on the “Look Into My Eyes” radio version on Bone’s Art of War album. Chicago did not take this jab lightly, especially since the style Bone claimed Chicago rappers bit was actually originated in Chicago.

If you can remember back then, then you know how united Chicago rappers were: Twista, Psycho Drama, Speed Knot Mobstaz, Crucial Conflict, Snypaz, Renegade, Money Makin’ Soldiers, and Do or Die; it wasn’t just a West Side thing, all sides participated in a city-wide Bone Crushing. This Ep is an ode to the unity that beef brought about, and gives optimism for future artists in Chicago that unite. Yea the beef is dead, but we had to open that old wound back up… In true Chicago style, we’re on some b.s. with this one. Thanks to Ryan Kane and Will White for the artwork. From the intro to the last verse, Download and Ride…..
