Longshot – Win Or Die

Two of the most underrated artists working today hit the
Morseland this September to bring to you dope lyrics, mellifluous
beats and a memorable live performance.

Chicago native Longshot has been living in the Twin Cities for
the past couple of years after winning the Jake One/Rhymesayers song
writing contest and has two projects he’s promoting on these dates.
The first is a mixtape ‘Shot released this past April called ‘Live
From Gravebomb’. It features 18 brand new tracks, with production
from Doomtree’s Lazerbeak, TGIK, Panthrow and more. Guest emcees
include Rhymesayers’ first lady Psalm One, Desdamona, and Longshot’s
younger brother Vicious. Longshot’s latest project is the result of
him winning the RSE/Jake One contest and is a two song digital single
produced by Seattle based super producer Jake One and released on the
Rhymesayers label. The two songs, ‘The Real Thing’ and ‘Just Flow’
were released this past June and are available now on Itunes.

Desdamona is at the top with the best of them, male or female,
and has a soul for what hip hop is. Her work blurs the line between
spoken word and emcee and she has been influential in the Minneapolis
hip hop scene through both her music and work in the community. Des
takes her work into schools, prisons and colleges, leading workshops
in Hip Hop & Spoken Word. In 2005 Desdamona released her first
full-length project The Ledge, and in the same year co-founded B-Girl
Be, the world’s first all-female celebration of the four elements of
hip hop. Since then she has released 2 follow-up projects, The Source
(2007) and Inkling (2009). She has 2 new projects in the works: a
full-length solo project, and a collaboration with partner Carnage The
Executioner to be released on French label Hope Street/NATO Music.
