Yes, you read the headline correctly – Sir Mix-A-Lot, the Sir Mix-A-Lot will will be featured on this monster of a single from GLC’s upcoming album, Love, Life & Loyalty. Well, kind of.
Originally, a sample of Sir Mix-A-Lot’s voice from “Posse on Broadway” (“Clockin’ lots of dollars, we all got gold”) was being used for the Xcel-produced track, but after Mix-A-Lot heard the track, he loved it so much he decided to re-record his vocals and be a part of the video. Put ’em on the glass, indeed.
I also got my hands on some screen caps of the Ike Films-directed video (shouts to Travis), which is shaping up to be one of the top videos of the year. Look for the finished product to be dropping within the next month or so. As far as the song…well, you’re gonna have to keep waiting on that one. It’ll be well worth the weight, though. You can trust that.
