King Louie Speaks On Kanye’s “I Don’t Like” Shout Out

Posted on May 1, 2012 by Andrew Barber

King Louie, Rockie Fresh & YP hours ago in L.A.

Today, the “I Don’t Like (Remix)” hit like the Chief Keef ad-lib — bang, bang. After DJ Pharris (Power 92) premiered and the smoke cleared, FSD was left crashed (first time in history), Young Chop was pissed, and a handful of Chicago artists got the biggest and best shout outs ever courtesy of Kanye West.

Bump J, L.E.P. Bogus Boys and King Louie were ceremoniously championed by Ye as the Chicago representatives — the kind of publicity you can’t pay for. So while celebrating on the west coast, it was only right that we caught up with King Louie to get his thoughts on his shout out heard ’round the world:

“When I first heard about the shout out, my man Young Hustle told me, and I was like ‘Get the fuck outta here.’ I didn’t really believe him. Then Monop [John Monopoly] told me about it and I was completely surprised. Then when I finally heard it, I was like ‘That shit’s dope.’ Salute to the homie Ye!”
