I was getting hit all weekend about Mikkey’s set at the A3C Festival in Atlanta over the weekend. People were saying that he absolutely killed it. Here we have a clip of Mikk performing the fan favorite “Liquor Store”, which he dedicated to Derrion Albert.
Check out what Creative Loafing had to say:
While Icehouse was led by spirited vets, the Perfect Attendance stage at the 5 Spot continued to be a stomping ground for the much-hyped newbies entering the game, including Mikkey Halsted and Curren$y. While Atlanta favs, Mama’s Mustache, Trimm and Yelawolf all entertained (they definitely should’ve given Mama’s Mustache and Yelawolf more time), the highlight of the night was probably No I.D.’s diamond in the rough, Mikkey Halsted. Dedicating his performance to kids in Chicago, the rapper proceeded to woo the crowd with songs like the Don Cannon produced “Hello.” Keeping his set mellow, he was still able to keep the crowd captivated with his message — which, let’s face it, is a rarity these days since most rappers want to be rockers.
