Video: Lupe Brings Out Mikkey Halsted & Crucial Conflict

Posted on October 30, 2009 by Andrew Barber

Mikkey Halsted – “Liquor Store”

Last night Lupe showed some serious Chi-Town unity, by bringing out some of the Chi’s finest to rock with him on stage. After his Chicago-inspired vignette, Lu brought out Mikkey Halsted to perform his classic track, “Liquor Store”. Then after performing “Go Go Gadget” flow, Lupe switched the beat and finished the song over the instrumental for “Hay”, before bringing out his Westside bredren, Crucial Conflict, who then went on to perform “Hay”.  Cru Con brought some of the craziest energy I’ve ever seen to the stage, and it was truly something special.  Props to Lu for that.

Dude ‘N’ Nem and a rapper I was unfamiliar with named The Kid (I’d like to hear more from him), also got some stage time.  I don’t have video for this, but I do believe RTC and Virgil at the Hornet, got this whole piece.  I’ll repost if so.

Oh and my bad on the vid cut-offs. It was the end of the night and my battery was dead and memory stick was full.  I mean, the show was over two hours long, so what do you expect?
