Derrick Rose and adidas descended on Chicago earlier today to unveil to the world the D. Rose III sneakers, as well as his new line of merchandise from adidas. The third edition of his D. Rose sneakers and his signature collection, complete with his new logo will be available worldwide on October 4th. The line includes t-shirts, hoodies, shorts and socks with more on the way.
Derrick was quoted as saying: “The D Rose 3 signature collection is special to me because I worked side-by-side with adidas on everything from materials to fit to colors to make it the best we’ve done yet,” said Rose. “I love the new logo that calls out the most important things to me: my family, basketball and the city of Chicago.”
At Derrick’s press conference, held at a location in the Chi that was turned into D. Rose’s worldwide headquarters; Derrick discussed the shoe, the line, as well as his career-hindering injury. When asked about his fans and the city of Chicago, Derrick got rather choked up and shed a few tears in front of the packed house filled with press and family members. It was a very powerful moment from an athlete who has every reason to not care about the average person — but that’s not who Derrick is. He truly feels for his city, his fans and the Bulls.
