Dope Fantasy is a four man collective from the Eastside of the Chi, and today they make their FSD debut with two new joints produced by C-Sick. Jay R Best By Far reached out via email today, so I checked it out, and despite being called “Real Hip-Hop” (I hate when people say things like “this is real hip-hop!”) it was cold. It’s a very different C-Sick sound than what you’re expecting — it’s the opposite of trap or drill or whatever.

After the first joint caught attention, I started thumbing through his Hulkshare page and found a gem entitled “Next To You.” It samples Oliver Cheatham’s “Get Down Saturday Night,” which is probably best known for being sampled by Ideal for “Whatever.” Whatever, I liked them so I upped ’em both.
