Video: Thelonious Martin – Far Away

Posted on April 22, 2013 by Andrew Barber

Directed by Bradley A. Murray

Prior to the April 9th release of Thelo’s From Me To You project, Thelonious linked with photographer/videographer Bradley Murray to craft this super ill visual for his “Far Away” instrumental. Seriously, they snapped with this clip, which is a part of Brad’s Definitive Moment series.

I’ll let Mr. Murray explain:

“Did you listen to it in the car? was the first thing Thelonius asked me before we began our video shoot for the day. “Hell yeah I listened to it in the car.” He hopped in the car and quickly plugged up his laptop to my car stereo. With one simple listen he taps the equalizer nob and starts adjusting. Usually I don’t like anyone touching my radio ESPECIALLY my levels. But this was a special occasion as he effortlessly created instrumental after instrumental while in the passenger seat. We talked about his style and his J-Dilla esque technique. The great thing about inspiration is that it births inspiration. Its like a domino effect or where you pass it on after you gather your influence’s and throw your own dirt on histories pavement.”

The intro where the CTA driver is yelling at them is CLEARLY the best part of the video. Ill shit. #hommeteam
