FSD Feature: Fatboi Fresh Presents: 10 Chicago Producers You Should Shop With

Fatboi Fresh is a Chicago emcee, entrepreneur and freelance contributor to Fake Shore Drive. The thoughts and opinions expressed by Fatboi Fresh in this piece are his and his alone.

This feels kind of weird — it’s my first time writing in months. So much on my plate, tons of shit to do, but before I head out to make my daily mark on the world, I’d like to share some game on how to musically compete with major label artists without having a major label budget. In my humble opinion, I believe the key to success is dedicating yourself to searching for the best and hungriest producers that you can get your hands on.

It’s important that artists build and grow relationships with talented musicians early on, because you never know who may have that hot new sound that can break you as an artist, and set you apart from the competition. I personally know a lot of talented emcees who ask me how I go about acquiring production for my projects. When I tell them the truth, they often give me a ton of excuses and continue to go on an unproductive journey of ass backwards mediocrity that somehow ends up being my fault.

First of all, you sound like a bitch. Second of all, IF you don’t do whatever you have to do to get what you need in this world, that’s your fault and no one else’s. Although I have a deeply rooted aversion for all you wannabe emcees that won’t pull out all the stops for your own art. I’ve decided to do your weak ass a solid, and for the very last time explain how to build relationships with producers. And I’m doing it for the sake of them and not you. Before I just start spitting out names, allow me give you a couple of do’s and don’ts before reaching out to producers, so that you won’t play yourself any further than you already have.

Na$im Williams has been on a roll for Treated Crew. He’s definitely one of the best upstart producers in Chicago’s Hip-Hop scene. Hip-Hop beatsmith collaborative OnGaud are phenomenal as well!

S/O to to Staci and D-Que for linking me to the comments, appreciate y’all mentioning us. Thx for the love. But S/O to Fakeshore as well for holding Chicago producers down, there’s always gonna be someone left out, so I don’t feel a way about it, S/O to Rashid Hadee, C-Sick, 2 others I thought would make the list. #Respect

10 producers you should shop with…not the most popular, or over saturated.

Lazy ass article, no interviews, no samples of their beats, no quality insight as to why a reader/potential customer would ever want to take your advice seriously, probably not even any details being sought after aside their twitter handles to back up your own opinion (which hasn’t even been detailed out for the most part)…

step your blog game up, this click to next page BS is just your easy way at making some change off of the ad-sense revenue game. Quality content is king, this site has so much potential, but when it’s filled with lazy content like this, a notch of respect is taken away each and every time.

please focus on quality content 100% of the time, respect your readers and yourselves

This is the most poorly written article and all of the producers’ pictures look like their OKcupid profile pics.

I agree, both of them paid their dues over the past few yrs, rashid hadee had beats on little bro lp and moodz had beats with PA and won beat battles.
