Casey Veggies & King Chip – Lipstick On The Blunt

Posted on July 13, 2014 by Andrew Barber

Produced by Mike Cash

This is pretty dope — they’ve flipped (90s WWE superstar) Val Venis’ theme song into a dope new track called “Lipstick On The Blunt.” Someone tried to flip this for a remix of King Louie’s “Val Venis” a few years back, but it didn’t quite hit — this one makes more sense.

This is the first leak from the #WrassleRap project Emilio Sparks is putting together — the press release for which you can read below.

New York, NY– Emilio Sparks from Eminem’s Shade45 decided to put together a compilation EP. But, this EP isn’t your run-of-the-mill EP, instead he had some diamond in the rough producers flip Wrestling intros from some of the past and present greats in the sport. Then once Emilio had the material from the producers he started reaching out to established artists in the Industry that were wrestling fanatics.

Forever Madness (The Randy Savage) EP is an ode to Randy Savage, who passed away 4 years ago. Emilio always wanted to do an EP revolving around Professional Wrestling commemorating Randy Savage’s contributions to the sport. In Emilio’s eyes Randy Savage was hands down the best in Professional Wrestling, in 1989 was the first time Emilio had witnessed Savage laying down the flying elbow drop against Hulk Hogan at Summerslam. Savage lost because everyone lost to The Hulkster, but he definitely stole the show and had Emilio instantly hooked on the sport.

Teaming up with Harry Fraud’s In-House Engineer and fellow wrestling aficionado John Sparkz, they had formed their own imaginary tag team tandem known as The Sparks Foundation with Ryan Fionda as the Jimmy Hart (manager) of the duo.

You may have seen Wrassle Rap and their logo as avatars all over Twitter, with everyone from Wale and Wiz Khalifa to Shaheem Reid supporting the movement. Now wondering what it is you see the first project coming out of that incubator. Wrassle Rap is a collaborative effort to promote the positivity of Professional Wrestling in Hip-Hop.

The recruits for the first volume of Forever Madness (The Randy Savage EP) include on the production side: Audible Doctor (i.e. 50 Cent, Consequence, and more), Billy Jones, Kyle Justice (i.e. 50 Cent, J Cole “Dollar and a Dream”, and Kid Ink), and Mike Cash (i.e. Curren$y, Freeway, Smoke DZA, etc.). Artists include: Rayven Justice, SAYITAINTTONE, Dave East, King Chip, Casey Veggies, Smoke DZA, Problem, Badd Lucc, Nutso, Michael Christmas, and Devin Miles.

We’ll be rolling out singles today with the release of Casey Veggies and King Chip’s “Lipstick On The Blunt,” which samples Val Venis’ intro by Staten Island’s Mike Cash. The 2nd Single will be with Smoke DZA dropping next week. And then the EP will be released early August. In the words of Randy Savage OOOOH YEAHH.
