Milwaukee’s own Ray Bandz returns with a new video for “Pray,” which speaks on the recent gun violence in Milwaukee. I’ll let Ray take it from here:
This isn’t a song/video targeting “dirty cops” nor is it pointing fingers or blaming. This is a message to everyone about the violence thats going on here in this city. Its not about race because their is more black on black killings than this whole race thing. Like I said in this song “I can’t see nobody stopping violence”. We listen to songs that motivate us to kill, rob, and everything and pass up listening to songs like this. Im no Angel, I too walk around with a gun. Why? Because it’s necassary for me, knowing that their are those who like to rob you and kill you over material things or for no apparent reason at all. Too many heartless people in this city for violence to stop. From police to us as residents of Milwaukee. I was almost beaten to death by 6 or 7 West Allis Policemen because they “thought my camera was a gun”. Peppered sprayed over 3 times including inside my ear and up my nose, kicked in the ribs, knees to the head, hair pulled, punched, all while being handcuffed. They even took the SD card out the camera and said in the police report that the card fell out of my Canon T3I camera which had the whole recording from the time the officers stopped me until they were done beating me and anybody who knows this camera, knows that you actually have to take the SD card out yourself and it won’t just fall out. Took me about a week to get back on my feet which is the reason I’ve gotten the tattoo on my back to symoblize I was able to stand back on my feet and continue with life and live another day. Throughout all of that, I’m still here and I can honestly say I’m blessed. We may feel that this life we’re living is a nightmare but we must know that this is a everyday reality for us.
