This Sony leak stuff keeps getting deeper and deeper, and today new leaks reveal that Kanye West and team had approached Sony about doing a full-length feature film. Documents also show that Kanye remade the classic giant piano scene from the Big with Seth Rogen. Not sure when/if we’ll see either, but we need that Kanye summer blockbuster, ju’heard?
The latest, from The Daily Beast, reveals that Kanye West’s representatives approached Sony about doing a feature-length film with West. “I supervise all of Kanye’s film and media projects, and we have a major film project coming up that involves both cinematic and technological innovation, so I naturally thought Sony and wanted to reach out,” wrote West’s creative director Elon Rutberg in an email, per Daily Beast. “We premiered a multi-screen cinema experience to great response at Cannes 2012, and are looking to take the storytelling to the next level with a feature length film, shot for an immersive cinema experience.”
Even more exciting, albeit random, there is apparently footage of Kanye helping to reenact the oft-imitated piano scene from Big in a 2015 Seth Rogen/Joseph Gordon-Levitt film XMAS. “Seth, Joe, and [Anthony] Mackie reenacting the scene from BIG on the floor piano at FAO Schwartz with KANYE WEST,” Sony studio chief Amy Pascal wrote in an email discussing a teaser for the film. “It’s f–king awesome.”
