Battle of the Beats: The Primeridian’s “Hang On” (Madlib vs. Nicolay)

Posted on September 23, 2008 by Andrew Barber

Battle time. This edition features Chicago’s The Primeridian, who recorded two separate versions of their jawn, “Hang On”. The first featured spaced-out production from Cali’s blunted scientist, Madlib. Feeling the song had some additional legs, they got with Phonte’s right hand man, Nicolay, the European favorite, for a remix.

It appears, as of now, the Nicolay version is the one that’s going to make their album, Da Mornin’ Afta.

So the question is: who killed it – Madlib or Nicolay?

Vote early and vote often.
