I know you guys have been waiting on this, and we’ve had a bit of a delay, but I promise you it’s worth the wait.
I recently sat down with legendary Chicago music icon, George Daniels, for an exclusive and in-depth interview. If you’re unfamiliar with George, you should know that there’s more to the man who created George’s Music Room and steps like a “triple O.G.” in R. Kelly music videos, than meets the eye. His history in music is DEEP, and he really opened up on this one. His wealth of knowledge is endless and we all could truly learn something from the man.
In part 1, George speaks on his beginnings in the industry – from his early days at Chess Records, when he caught the Jackson 5 auditioning or Mick Jagger just hanging out, to him touring the country and exploring venues such as the Apollo Theater. George also discusses how Chicago and Chess pioneered a lot of the popular music and sounds of that era, and how Chicago was once a powerhouse hub for the music industry. Things done changed, obviously; and this man has seen it all.
