I woke up this morning to find this information waiting on me in my inbox – needless to say, today started off on the right foot:
The 2008 Pitchfork Music Festival invades Chicago’s Union Park from July 18-20. We’ve already revealed 13 of the 41 scheduled acts– including Public Enemy doing It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back, Animal Collective, Spiritualized, and Vampire Weekend — and now, we’re pleased to announce 13 more…
… Other additions to the lineup include…Ghostface and Raekwon of the Wu-Tang Clan performing together.
Are you kidding me? This is crazy. Last year Pitchfork did the unthinkable and brought GZA to Chicago to perform Liquid Swords in its entirety (Cappadonna, Killah Priest and others were also on hand), now they’re bringing Ghost and Rae? I had a feeling they were going to try and duplicate the Wu-Tang nostalgia that took place last year, but they went ahead and exceeded my expectations. Well done.
