I’m sure most of you know by now, but late last night/early this morning we lost a true Hip-Hop legend – Guru (best known for being one half of Gangstarr and his Jazzmatazz series) – who succumbed to a bout with cancer. Today is a very sad day for Hip-Hop. Adding insult to injury, Guru’s “life partner” Solar released a scathing message “from” Guru’s deathbed, which is beyond suspicious. However, I’m not here to dwell on the negative, and would rather celebrate Guru’s life and contributions to Hip-Hop.
This morning Chicago’s music man George Daniels took to Twitter to reminisce on Keith Elam. I thought it was only right to share.

Beyond suspicious is an understatement. I would have believed the letter if Gang Starr’s wikipedia page wasn’t hacked twice over this morning. And as long as his estate is getting money, it shouldn’t matter who is giving tributes. That’s comparable to Busta and Gho
