When the Furious One first showed me the concept of this tee, I initially thought people would take it the wrong way and get the idea he was promoting violence, which is simply not the case. I’ve also seen a decent amount of people wearing these around town, so I wanted to get with him to get his thoughts on the tee and the whole idea behind this “Killanois” concept. It’s definitely a statement – to say the least.
Here is what Mr. Stylez had to say:
The idea for the Killanois tee came about a couple of weeks ago, and while wasting time looking for a graphic designer i said, let me open up Photoshop and do this myself. with the 50 shooting victims in 50 hours that occurred on the first warm day of the year in Chicago, this design seems all the more… On top of the widespread violence that is plauging the inner city streets, our esteemed Mayor Daley and Governor Pat Quinn see fit to increase the taxes on already over taxed citizens for the budget them and their cronies messed up. Chicago is being bleed dry in more ways than one.
I really don’t want to explain it all in depth because I want you to draw your own conclusions, BUT, knowing from the reaction I get from the Chicago flag tattoo that wraps around my wrist, most people think this is JUST the Chicago Police Department flag. NO, this is the City Of Chicago flag and this in no way represents a call to arms against the Chicago Police Department. This is a reflection of my feelings about whats going on in the streets & our great Mayor Daley & Governor Quinn and the ever so brilliant Chicago Police Superintendent Jody Weis fronting to the rest of the world that Chicago isn’t a “kill zone”…

“with the 50 shooting victims in 50 hours that occurred on the first warm day of the year in Chicago, this design seems all the more… ” <— Mr. Stylez you never addressed the violence issue, you just said …
Sorry nope, I can't honor this sh*t, cuz either you apart of the solution or the problem and this is most deff problematic…
this shit is lame dude just thought this design would look cool. andrew right this has negative written all over it. if you ain’t about the solution don’t bring gas to the fire
Aint this Sean Mac lil bitch boy?
There’s nothing positive about this shit whatsoever. This the same dude that found humor in the murder suicide at Old Navy this week. Take these collection of shirts and mow these shits with those lawns.
Having an opinion is one thing but hiding behind anonymity while referncing this mans personal life and twitter page is whole different issue. If this is how you TRULY feel, put your name behind what you say. Puts more validity on the statement.
As for me, I think the tees are BOLD. I will be ordering mine ASAP. I feel it will incite change. If more people are seen wearing them MAYBE the mayor will find money to adequately staff our police department. MAYBE our officers will feel safer at work and be more proactive on the job. MAYBE it just might force our politicians to act right long enough to effect change in the city. MAYBE someone will FINALLY pay attention. You did right?
Peace in the middle!!!
I like the design…I dont know nothing about homie personally so I choose to take what he says for face value…anything alarming will attract attention know that!!
P.S. Reggie Carter right…Anonymous statements dont mean sh*t!
I agree, THERE IS NOTHING POSITIVE ABOUT THIS SHIRT. It will NOT bring on change. Mayor Daley and anyone else in the city of Chicago of ANY importance WILL NOT look twice at this shirt, and if they did I guarantee they won’t think to question themselves or the the nigga wearing it about the “deeper” meaning.
His personal life IS a factor. This is not a revolutionary, this is a dude who finds humor in violence. The nigga twitpics pictures of broads about to fight in the street with bats? I see it like this, This nigga is Fashion geek Al’s straggler and he is just trying to make a quick buck. #FAIL!
Reggie is right. If enough people see these shirts someone will pay attention. I’ve been at press meetings with Daly for my job, believe me any thing goes. You’d be surprised the stuff that comes up. And its not so much that he see it, …..I think if it just creates a debate or more awareness of the issue, its a start!
Sounds like whoever is going so hard negatively above has a personal issue with Furious.
I’m a supportor of this t-shirt. let me tell you why, first it brings SOCIAL AWARENESS to the problem of the shootings happening in the city of Chicago. People ask me all the time “what does this shirt mean?” it means we can’t let the media push the chicago shootings aside, we can’t let people forget that chicago has a problem. Ask yourself, How does a problem get solve? well, it gets finally solved when enough people complain about nothing getting done. More people are concerned about Lebron or Kobe then doing something about our own back yards. Secondly, to question a man twitter page and so forth is not justified either. take a look at all the other pages everyone else follows and people tweet about the most senseless things. This awareness is called grassroots efforts, eventually enough people will see and either support, do something or not do something. If you not afraid of your opinions, post your name.
