I spotted this cover today and it immediately grabbed my attention. Super official. The accompanying article on the recent gun-control laws and how it affects Mayor Daley is also a must read.
For Daley, though, the mere existence of the ordinance was far more significant than its contents. Quick passage of a new gun-control law was the mayor’s top priority in the wake of the Supreme Court decision: he wanted to announce, in the strongest voice possible, that not even the highest court in the land was going to keep him from regulating guns in his own city. Gun control has been a very successful political strategy for Daley—if not a successful crime-fighting strategy.

i havent really followed this story, does this mean the ban on owning a handgun is till in effect even after a supreme court hearing?? if so, what the hell happened to the constitution & our 2nd amendment right?? doesnt apply in chicago???!!!!
Check inside they mention the new gaggie mixtape
people who legally register guns are not the people killing others. Illegal guns are usually the ones in murderers’ hands, am I wrong??? , i feel daley for trying to keep the city safe, but banning guns does not work. Obviously, look at all the murders in Chicago…(while Daleys ban was in effect since what 1982…?) Goons and G’s gonna get their weaponry fully whether its truthfully or untruthfully (mostly untruthfully duh), and some stats find violence increasiung since the ban… Look at otyher areas where guns are legal, even concealed, and you will find a much lower rate of handgun homicide. What happened when prohibiiton of alcohol took place early 20th Century??? Capone kept the city wet. Criminals will work around laws regardless, and if I cannot protext myself from those people Im dead
