Street artist and UK-dweller, Banksy, hit Chicago back in May and left a handful of pieces throughout the City in his wake. Only three were actually identified (the carriage, the hoodrat, and the wall creature), but many speculated there were other, unfound, works of art around the City. I mean, they could potentially anywhere, right?
Today, I received this shot from reader Brent Butcher who spotted this in an alley in the Loop. This definitely looks like the works of Banksy, but could easily be a Banksy knock-off (a Fanksy?). The art is dope, nonetheless.
Was this a leftover from his last visit, or did Banksy return without our knowledge? I ask this question because earlier this week the Maxwell Collette blog spotted a Banksy hoodrat over by US Cellular. You’d think someone would’ve found that by now, but it could also be a fake.
Looks like a fake! Dope concept though… oil spill america, nice…
^^
what about the bottom one?
i DONT GET THE BOTTOM ONE iM A LIL SLOW
there is another on one at around clinton and polk ish but it is 2 guys in suits with america heads
I found this piece up North a while ago, but it looks unfinished or possibly a “Fanksy”. Doesn’t quite measure up to previous works, but inspired nonetheless:
