Truthfully the name says it all! Onis(Honest) hails from the Southside of Chicago. The “Wild 100’s” is where Onis stumbled upon Hip Hop, and every since then it has been one of his favored outlets. “I can express whatever I’m feeling at any given time with music. It’s the element that puts me where I’ve never been” says Onis. He started off honing his craft with the group, Skwod Deep. However, after a few years he decided to do his own thing and go solo. A writer, a producer, and most of all an emcee, Onis provides a fresh breath to the Chicago music scene. “I would describe my style as having an old school foundation with new school notation. I wanna bring that HIP HOP feel back! None of that corny hip hop tho!” says Onis. Pairing with Stay Humble Ent, Onis has positioned himself for his first ‘Ish’tape release “On The Contrary” which was hosted and mixed by DJ Jay Illa! With a vast love for Architecture/design and his “Old Soul” ways, he’s sure to bring us something fresh, something new! And now without further due I’d like to present, as Onis would say, “Its O 2da!!”
