Preview: Twista – The Perfect Storm [Part 3]

Posted on July 21, 2010 by Andrew Barber

You’ve seen Parts 1 and 2 of Twista’s preview of his upcoming album, The Perfect Storm, and now we’re back with Part 3. We find ourselves midway through the album, and past some, but not all, of the big name features and collabos. For the duration of the album, T pretty much handles business for dolo, which I know some of you prefer.  A couple of the “harder” T songs appear at this point.  Take a closer look below…

Back To Basics

Produced by The Legendary Traxster

That hardcore, back to the Westside, back to Adrenaline Rush, back to basics (zing?) Twista track. Hard, gritty, it’s the summer of 1997 type stuff. If you’re into that sound, then you’re going to love this one.

2012

Produced by The Legendary Traxster

I’m not sure who the lady singing on here is (one of Traxster’s artists, I believe), but she has incredible pipes. This is another one of those Twist and Trax joints that’s readymade for the radio and for those looking to “set the mood”. Mustafa Rocks, who was also in the room, was absolutely going crazy for this track. The idea of the song is that it’s 2012 and the world is going to end, so let’s get it on. Get it?

3 Minute Murder

Produced by Twinz

Twista. Raps. For. Three. Minutes. Straight.

Dude tears this track to shreds. Just three minutes of lyrical fury. Think “Overdose 2010”, if you will. This may or may not have been the point when we lost power in the studio. Seriously.

The fact there are no clips here is kind of ridiculous. However, I might do this album the traditional style. ‘ll fucking wait to buy the CD at Best Buy and not download every damn track beforehand. It sounds like Twista is infusing at least a little creativity into this album. It’s more than can be said for the last couple. I’m getting somewhat excited but don’t want to be let down again so will keep expectations low.
