Video: L.E.P. Bogus Boys x Gucci Mane – Handlin’ My Business [Behind The Scenes]

Posted on September 6, 2010 by Andrew Barber

One things for sure, two things for certain, the L.E.P. Bogus Boys ran Chicago on Labor Day 2010. I may even have to declare this date Bogus Boy Day – a new Chicago Holiday.  Alongside Polar Bear LaFlare, L.E.P. hit spots all across the City to shoot the video for “Handlin’ My Business”, which will be featured on Don’t Feed The Killaz Vol. 3, that drops on Halloween.

Da Visionaryz and Brandon “N2ition” Riley teamed up to direct this one of a kind clip, that features Gucci and Count trading bars over a Hi Tek-produced MONSTER.  By the time I made it over to the shoot, L.E.P. and Gucci had completely shut down the Westside, within minutes of Gucci’s tour bus pulling in the parking lot next door to Uncle Remus’ on Madison & Central.  The whole neighborhood came out, including the cops from down the street and some dude with an iguana (?).  Hell, the staff from Uncle Remus’ even came over to see what all the fuss was about and passed out t-shirts to the artists, directors and onlookers.  Once L.E.P. and Gucci emerged from the tour bus (which had LaFlare’s face plastered all over it – not exactly inconspicuous) the crowd erupted as if it was the damn Beatles.  It was crazy.  I’ve honestly never seen anything like it.  Cops had to eventually put up yellow tape to keep the crowd under control – but all and all it was peaceful and pleasant shoot.

Bo Deal, Wooh Da Kid, NBA hopper Bobby Simmons, Morocco Vaughn and many others came out to support and get cameos.   I’m looking forward to seeing what Da Visionaryz and Brandon do with this clip – it’s going to be something serious.  No Big Mike.

    STAND UP CHICAGO

The most beautiful thing about this is how they brought the magic of video making to an area where people almost never get the opportunity to see the realness and obtainability of success. Events like this brings hope to the hood.

Regardless of what a lot of haters “believe,” young kids look up to entertainers and want to be them, so to get an opportunity to see a real live video taking place is awesome in the the eyes of a child who’s from the hood.

The finished product is gonna be crazy!

I second John John’s statement: IM FUCKIN WIT YOU LEP

I agree with Echo. It was a cool experience for the kids who were watching….Definitely not something you see everyday regardless of where you live.

Hating is a big ass part of chicago, thats why Chi-Town is not on the map, because of people that don’t wanna show support, for the people from Chicago thats trying to make it out the hood, that grew up here just like them. If your hating, and just plain JEALOUS, keep it to urself, cause it’s just not cute. To L.E.P. keep up the good work.

^^^Im so sick of that cliche ass bullshit…”Niccuhs in Chicago aint on cuz dey bes hating on each others”…fucking clowns..Niggas arent on in Chicago because we suck EVERYONE elses dick..Period. Point. Blank. Im in this shit. and not a nigga here hating had nothing to do with me “Not getting on”…Get the fuck up off you lazy wanna be a rapper ass. Stop taking shit. Whip these Dj’s (we the only city where we allow Dj’s to NOT play our music)…..Stop supporting the niggas that claim your city when convenient. L.E.P. I feel is loyal to Chicago. Mainly, because they have to be…They have no “true” demographic. I def want all (Talented) artists in Chicago to get their shine. Just shed the light on the right places……………

and furthermore…Jesus had haters. Mahat Ghandi had haters. We live in Chicago where the Sox and the Cubs are enemies. So how in the fuck do expect NOT to have haters??? If you dont ,your not important enough anyways!..

    Food for thought

Thanks for letting everyone see just how “Dead” the music scene in Chicago is…….
