These Brick Squad guys really have a time when they come to Chicago, don’t they? You can’t even be mad at that. Over the past two weeks, first Gucci (w/ L.E.P.) and now Waka have come to the Chi to shoot music videos and do shows.
For the past two days, Waka has been all over Chicago – from shooting videos at the Bread Factory to doing in-stores at AKIN – this man has literally been everywhere.

The reason out of town artist get so much love is because Chicago industry wise, is a consumer city, In addition radio stations & djs often times are affraid to break new artist, because of listener/ crowd reaction. Radio has ratings to keep up & We have to maintain a party atmosphere too.$$$$ Promoters & party people just want to make $$$ & dance. If we support great artist & songs & if artist get off there ass & be present in the streets your record will be played. Hot2def’s “up & down was broken in the clubs 1st here. one of the few records in recent years(from chicago) to do so & mainly because he is always out @ the clubs & make the type of music the consumers want to hear. Try your best to think business instead of personal when you make records & you will get more play & recognition.Get out in the streets & use a 4-6 month motto to break a record. I’m one of the few Djs that will play a new record in prime time slots in the club & on radio. As long as the primary consumer demands Waka??? Thats what they will get! #imjusayin!!!
