Labels want their hiphop artist to have developed a buzz whether it be by a lucky single or by some grassroots fan building. I dont think that is as relevant then. Back then you could get a deal off “potential”. Now potential just gets you sent to the drawing board and depending on how fast you develop and show your consistency and gain support…those important ears may still be open when you come back with your new stuff.

“No what I’m saying” every two seconds and saying “lepbogusboys” every two seconds is not telling anybody anything about what you stand for. These guys have decent local songs but they have no appeal. Its nothing about them that stands out or separates them from the other hustlers/rappers grinding from Chicago, And they look like every other thug on the street. The best thing I can say about them is there branded very well. They give away a lot of free music and videos to build there name. Other than that I can also say they do some decent videos with Coodie.
{But} They are suppose to be rappers so their music should match their videos and there hustle. There songs are decent at best and there lyrical content is extremely basic. Its other rappers from the Chi that are younger that write and deliver songs that are 10 times better than them, some examples are Skooda Chose, Lil Marvo, or Mikkey Halsted. When a label does there research and compares Lep to the other talent in Chicago Lep doesn’t stand a chance in hell. Artists like Marvo and Skooda are younger, make better songs, and they both have a good backing. And Mikkey is just lethal with the pen game.
All this to say that Lep won’t be going to far in this game-but either way good luck to them.
