The Low End Professionals were seemingly everywhere in NYC last week. From Green Lantern to Angela Yee to XXL, the Big Apple definitely felt their presence. The Bogus Boys wrapped up their week at BET’s 106 & Park as judges of the Freestyle Friday competition. Here’s some footage of their time on air.
And hey, it doesn’t get much better than Terrence screaming out “Don’t Feed Da Killaz”, now does it?
In other L.E.P. news, this past weekend Andrew Matson of the Seattle Times did a piece on La Roux’s “In For The Kill” and all of the various remixes and remakes. He gushed about L.E.P.’s remake and video for “Goin’ In For The Kill” and even ranked it atop his list:
British duo La Roux’s “In For The Kill” really puts the pop in synth-pop, with a Carlton-esque rhythm behind its cold keyboard plink, and some bright major chords in the chorus.
But what’s crossed over to the remix circuit is the song’s dark vibe, a kind of Knight Rider chillness that works inside the compacted rhythm of the original but just as easily stretches over wobbly-bass dubstep and American rap. My favorite remixes, in order, are L.E.P. Bogus Boys’ gangster hiphopera version, then UK producer Skream’s lean dubstep, then Kanye’s “Monster”-ized Twilight rap.
lep should get buk on the track for a remix!
