In 2010, Chicago has pushed out a ton of incredible music videos from indie artists – from L.E.P. to The Cool Kids to GLC – local directors have been going above and beyond the call of duty and making quality clips that can compete with the big dog directors with even bigger budgets. Heck, in due time, some of these guys will possibly be the next big dog directors. One of the videos I’m most excited about is “FNB”, directed by Brandon “N2ition” Riley, which features Mikkey Halsted, Freddie Gibbs, BJ The Chicago Kid and No I.D. I’ve seen a ruff cut and it’s absolutely amazing. The track will be featured on Mikkey Halsted’s The Dark Room (which drops next Tuesday!) and the video should be following shortly thereafter.
Below is a short backstory on the treatment and hit the cut for more shots:
“Rico Jenkins’ club stays packed daily thanks to noted musician Mikkey Halsted. Mikkey’s brand of soul and purpose keep patrons coming back for more. What Mikkey doesnt know is that his boss is in deep….to the wrong man. During one of Mikkey’s mid-day practice sessions Rico’s presence is requested by Freddie Gibbs. Gibbs, a refined street boss merely seeks what he is owed. And he will get it…One way or another.”
Where’s that Halsted x Twista video at anyways?
