This was one of the first songs I heard from an early version of Sir Michael Rocks’ The Rocks Report project, many months ago. I’m not sure who produced the version of “Exing” that actually landed on the mixtape (Tye Hill, perhaps?), but I always thought this version was superior. Both dope, but you can’t help but love this sample made famous by Diamond D on “This One” from his Hatred, Passion & Infidelity album. I got my Ty Kidd on and traced the origins , however, and have to tip my hat to Bobby Hutcherson. Ha!
Anyhoo, Tye Hill is a beast and I’m looking forward to Mike’s Premiere Politics project.
