Tonight, legendary Chicago emcee/actor/activist Common hosted his Common Ground Foundation Gala at the Intercontinental Hotel in Chicago. The black tie affair hosted many famous Chicagoans, actors and actresses and Com was introduced at the reception by Chicago’s Mayor-elect Rahm Emanuel (who was introduced by Common’s mother). Now that’s power. Common also honored Maya Angelou, who received more than a standing ovation by the crowd. You can’t do anything but honor Common for all of his successes accomplishments and activism. This is a role model.
