Pics: Shepard Fairey in Chicago

Posted on May 8, 2011 by Andrew Barber

For those not in the know, Shepard is behind the iconic Obama HOPE piece that was used frequently throughout his presidential campaign, the lifestyle brand OBEY, and Shep was prominently featured in the Banksy mocumentary Exit Through The Gift Shop.

He was recently in Chicago for the Art Chicago Fair and dropped a few pieces around town, including one that’s now defaced on Milwaukee/Ashland/Grand.  Here we have some pics of the extremely fresh masterpiece he tossed up below the Grand/Lakeshore underpass.

Says HypeBeast:

The Art Chicago Fair played host to the REVOLUTIONS show – an exhibition of Shepard Fairey’s rendition of intricately designed album cover artwork. To complement the show’s interior, an oversized extension decorated to the streets in the form of a 11 by 130-foot mural under Chicago’s Grand and Lakeshore underpass.
