In the wee hours of this morning, I received an email from Twista’s camp with his brand new Bulls anthem attached, “Winning Streak”, which boasted a feature from former (er…current?) Bad Boy crooner Mario Winans, that premiered at the United Center during Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Somewhat surprised, I went back to sleep to return to post it in a few hours – not knowing the real surprise was awaiting me later in the AM.
Enter the hip-hop debut of Chicago Bulls power Forward Carlos Boozer, who unannounced, kicked off the Twista tribute with a few bars of his own. Following in the footsteps of NBA greats who’ve graced the mic: Shaq Diesel (Shaq Fu to you), Allen “Jewelz” Iverson, Tony Parker and Kobe Bryant; Boozer boasted such rhymes as: “Now I got the game laced up. Shoestring”, (clearly taking cues from the Biggest of Sean’s), it was clear we had something special on our hands.
What ensued in the aftermath was a Twitter topic (that didn’t trend, sadly) called #BoozerBars. I called upon all of my followers (and my followers’ followers) to participate in creating some #BoozerBars of their own, and I’d post the best (or worst) for the readers. Check out a handful after the jump and feel free to add your own below or on Twitter. It’s a movement!
