Wayne Baker Brooks feat. Twista x GLC – Something’s Going Down

Posted on May 4, 2011 by Andrew Barber

Well, this is something different. Chicago Blues-man Wayne Baker Brooks enlists the help of the Tung Twista and Gangsta L Crisis for this genre-bending beater, “Something’s Going Down”. You know Twista murks every feature he jumps down on, and I like to think of GLC as a modern day Blues performer, so this one works.  Here’s the lowdown and how the track came about.

Wayne Baker Brooks, a well known Chicago blues/rocker is revolutionizing modern music & blues music. “So much of what’s out there sounds the same with both sides, I want to create something different & something undeniable with my music,” says Brooks. The result is a unique fusion of heavy Chicago Blues, Blues Rock, Soul, and Rap/Hip-Hop that is now dubbed a “Cultural Movement.”

Brooks knew that there was no better place to start that in the birthplace of the blues, his hometown of Chicago. Using only Chicago natives he put together some of the biggest talent in the business to create a song that showcases the many different sides of the iconic musical city.

Versatility: the one thing that most CHI-TOWN artists are known to have.
