Sound Familiar? Freddie Gibbs x GLC Edition

Posted on June 10, 2011 by Ty Howard

G.I. to the C-H-I.

Last year, Freddie Gibbs took the internet by storm with his Str8 Killa, No Filla mixtape and Str8 Killa EP. Featured on both projects was a collaboration with southern legend Bun B. entitled “Rock Bottom”, which was produced by K-Salaam & Beatnick. Here’s where it gets interesting. A year earlier GLC dropped a video for his track “Gangstaz Nature” featuring Cold Hard and it happened to be the same track that Gibbs had for “Rock Bottom”. I didn’t catch this right away and I’m pretty sure some of you didn’t either. Feel free to take a listen for yourself below. Who y’all got, though? Gangsta Gibbs & Bun B. or GL & Cold Hard? Sound off.

Gibbs x Bun easily. I fucks with GLC and Crucial Conflict, but Cold Hard sound like a rapping Tyrone Biggums.

GLC & Cold Hard’s version is way smoover & Gibbs & Buns shit sounds forced. Seems like Bun gave gibbs a throwaway verse. Don’t be caut up in the Jeezy hype!
