Lupe, ‘Ye and four guys from Liverpool.
It’s Friday, so I figured that I would go with an oldie-but-goodie for today’s installment of Sound Familiar.
Lupe and Kanye are two of my favorite artists, so I’m always excited to hear the end result of the two working together. That excitement was definitely present in 2008 when their collaboration from way back when, “The Birds & The Bees”, surfaced right here on FSD. I was shocked to learn that ‘Ye had actually flipped The Beatles’ “Don’t Let Me Down”, which is probably why the joint never saw a proper release as Beatles samples are almost impossible to get cleared. Of course, you can take a listen to both tracks below. Let’s hope these two work together more soon.
The Beatles – “Don’t Let Me Down”
Lupe Fiasco – “The Birds & The Bees” (Produced by Kanye West)
Lupe, for the love of all that is holy…. don not come on the O’reilly factor tonight. Don’t embarrass yourself or this city any further with your politcal gooblygook. You pieced your view of the world from sound bites you’ve heard flipping channels on your way to watching the cartoon network. PLLLLLLLEEEEEEEASSSSE DON’T DO IT!!!
