Ibn Jasper Speaks On “Monster” Video Leak

There was plenty of confusion surrounding the “Monster” video, and why it took six months for the the official version to drop.  If you remember, a rough cut hit the internet on December 30th, 2010, and the official tissue didn’t impact until last Sunday (June 5th).  The video seemingly dropped out of nowhere and nothing was said as to why.  Well, Ibn Jasper took to his tumblr to clear up the ordeal:

A Lil’ Message About MONSTER…

I’ve been reading comments about how the official version of the video doesn’t look different from the version that was LEAKED BY THE EDITING HOUSE (NOT Kanye). I was with Ye in the editing suite all day for a week straight while he was racking his brain to get the edit right. Jake Nava turned in a rough edit that wasn’t up to par, so Yeezi got the footage and set up shop in the editing suite to get the quality level right. Ye didn’t want to rush and drop a video that wasn’t up to his standards, so he decided to shelf it so that he could take his time and get the video to a level where he would be comfortable releasing it.

The editing company really compromised their integrity as professionals by taking the liberty of leaking the video (with some super-wack ass titles over it as well). That’s why the comments urked me because NOBODY was supposed to see the video until NOW!!!! You can see the differences in the edit and color correction in the video above.

I’m in the service business, since I’m a barber, and the integrity that you have with your clients is a very important thing. I know all types of inside information, but you never see me leaking songs, video footage or any sensitive material to try to “score points” for myself, I just let my work do the talking.
