2011 Jordan Brand Breakfast Club
On Saturday, Jordan Brand, a division of NIKE, Inc., will unveil its Breakfast Club program with some of Chicago’s elite high school basketball players. Created by Michael Jordan, the program looks to inspire today’s young athletes in order to achieve personal growth and excellence. A closed basketball clinic kicked off the Breakfast club on Thursday and included elite workouts with the top 10 high school boys’ players from the Chicago metro area.
Today, the Breakfast Club will host a youth clinic for 50 kids from the Carole Robertson Center with top basketball trainer Idan Ravin.
Former NBA player Michael Finley, a 1991 graduate of Proviso East High School in Maywood, Illinois, will be on-hand to provide basketball insight and join Ravin and the kids from the Robertson Center during the clinic. In addition to improving their skills and honing their craft on the hardwood, the Breakfast Club will focus on improving their game in all facets on and off the court. The day’s festivities will also include a court refurbishment that includes resurfacing the basketball court, painting new lines on the court, installing two new baskets and providing some aluminum team benches on behalf of the Jordan Brand.
