This afternoon, Complex Magazine dropped their 100 Best Jay-Z Songs list, which I penned for them. I literally spent the greater portion of August working on this project, so it’s near and dear to my heart. If you have time, please check it out and share your thoughts. It was a lot of fun to put together, and it’s insane just how many great records Jay has released over the years – and there’s plenty that didn’t even make the cut. So on the 10th anniversary of 9/11 and The Blueprint, check out the greatest from the greatest, Jay Hova.
And as always, thanks to Complex for the opportunity, and Insanul for the assistance.

Good shit Drew!!!! Awesome piece.
nice job, but i think there were 3 problems:
– I think Can I Live should’ve been even higher, just behind #1.
– Can’t Knock the Hustle should’ve been in top 10 for sure
– No mention of Dime Bag Shorty at all?? the rest of the dudes on it are garbage but the beat and Jay’s flow alone should’ve got it in the bottom 20 songs or so without a doubt
