Last night, the Lacuna Artist Lofts on 2150 S. Canalport were turned upside down. Anchored by Hebru Brantley’s Yesterday’s Losers exhibit – which entirely took over the newly renovated first floor – all five levels featured booming parties. Vita Morte, Leaders, Enstrumental, PHLI, Fashion Geek, Anna Hovet and many other local designers hosted pop up shops and open houses; with DJs, food and liquor.
The true marvel, however, was Hebru’s show on floor one. It’s hard for me to describe in words just how dope it was. I mean, I knew it was going to be next level, but this blew out any and every expectation I had. The time, effort and creativity put into this is above and beyond what a mere mortal human could complete.
Admittedly, I’m not much of a photographer, but I did what I could with my personal flicks. You get the idea, right? This is something you just have see for yourself and when Hebru said “I truly believe is the greatest art show Chicago has ever seen,” he wasn’t lying. This is one of the greatest artistic spectacles I’ve ever witnessed. Obviously, I’m no expert, but I give this one a 10 out of 10.
Hit the jump for my pics, and be sure to see if for yourself as it will be running for the duration of October.
